Nominations Accepted for Vacant CoSIDA Board of Directors Positions

To all CoSIDA members:

Nominations are now open THROUGH MONDAY, MAY 16 for several key leadership positions in CoSIDA, with terms beginning in June.

Your opportunity to serve on the CoSIDA Board awaits. We are looking for members who wish to engage with fellow members from throughout the organization. You have the opportunity to provide thoughts, input, expertise and initiatives, and serve as a voice for your colleagues. The CoSIDA Board is a rewarding and enjoyable experience and now is the time for you to consider this opportunity for you, or a friend and colleague whom you know would be a great fit for our board and our membership.
 
Nominations are open for five positions for the 2016-17 CoSIDA Board, which will convene for the first time on June 15 at the final day of the 2016 CoSIDA Convention.
 
3rd Vice President - (no geographic designation) - Serves a Five Year term on the board (3rd VP, 2nd VP, 1st VP, President, Past President) with specific assignments each year. Your commitment includes two conference calls per month, two additional days of meetings at the CoSIDA Convention, a summer meeting at NCAA Headquarters, a mid-year meeting at the NCAA Convention, and involvement as committee liaison as well as projects and special duties to be determined at that time.
 
At-Large Representative - (no geographic designation, two openings for 2015-16) - Serves a Three Year term on the board. Your commitment includes one conference call per month, two additional days of meetings at the CoSIDA Convention, and involvement as committee liaison as well as projects and special duties to be determined at that time.
 
College Division Representative - (One from Southeast Region and one from West Region) - Serves a Three Year term on the board. Members eligible are from a campus or conference office from CIS, NAIA, NJCAA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division III. Your commitment includes one conference call per month, two additional days of meetings at the CoSIDA Convention, and involvement as committee liaison as well as projects and special duties to be determined at that time.

 
The Southeast Region representative must be based in one of these states: Alabana, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The West Region representative must be based in one of these states or provinces: Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Texas, Utah.

To submit a formal nomination, please provide a letter of interest, a resume and staff biography, two letters of support and a head shot photograph to: mcdowele@union.edu, or by regular mail to: Eric McDowell, Union College Athletics, 807 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.


All items must be received by me by Monday, May 16. Selections are made on Saturday, June 11 and the new board is scheduled to be announced and approved at the Business Meeting during the CoSIDA Convention.
