The two-day event will be staged at Providence Park, home of the Portland MLS soccer team, Tuesday-Wednesday, Aug. 56912-3 and will feature a variety of recognized speakers and presentations on crisis communications, strategic communications and working with the media.

Day one of the event will offer presentations that include: Handling a Media Crisis, Navigating a Social Media Crisis, Gaining the Student-Athlete's Perspective on Communications, Crisis PR from the President's Office Perspective, Insights into the Communications Playbook of a Journalist and Crisis Communication from the SID's Perspective.

Confirmed speakers are Ric Bucher (Bleacher Report), Lee Weinstein (former NIKE USA Communications Director), Brian Berger (Co-founder, Everything on the Record and Sports PR Summit), Chris Metz (Vice President/Communications, Portland Timbers, Dana Thomas (NCAA Director of Web Services), Michael Ehrlich (Adidas public relations), Kyle Henley (Vice President of University Communications, Oregon), Nancy Hines (Director of Communications, Whitworth University), Nick Joos (Executive Associate AD, External Affairs, Baylor) and Gail Sideman (PUBLISIDE Personal Publicity).

Day two of the Communication Forum will offer hands-on training with attendees being divided into teams to offer solutions to a media crisis in a mock press conference format.

CoSIDA is partnering with Berger, founder/CEO of the Sports PR Summit, in hosting the new two-day educational workshop. Cost to attend the CoSIDA Communications Forum is $299.
