On Thursday, September 15, Tracy Warren, Esq., attorney with Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart, will present a webinar on the upcoming U.S. government's Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime policies and pay structure which go into legal effect in December 2016.

This is a followup to Warren's popular 2016 Convention session "2016 Legal Challenges Facing Collegiate Athletic Departments and SIDs" on the same topic. CoSIDA members can access her presentation on CoSIDA Connect's Resource Library (search "Warren" for her presentation).

This topic and legal ramifications has generated hot discussion and interest for those working in intercollegiate athletics, particularly those in athletic communications. In May, the U.S. Department of Labor released the final new rules on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)* overtime standards.

Legal issues unique to the athletic communication office will be the focus of attention as Tracy Warren, a member of the Academic All-America Hall of Fame and a nationally recognized employment law and sports attorney in San Diego, discusses the impending impact of overtime pay, tracking hours and the ramifications of the new legal OT laws for college athletic communications staffers.
