Nominations for the Academic All-America® men's and women's soccer programs are now open at
CoSIDA.com/awards.
The nomination deadline has been extended to Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 10 PM (Eastern).
All nominations for the Academic All-America® program must be done online through the CoSIDA web site. Nominations will be accepted only from current CoSIDA members, and members may nominate student-athletes only from their own institution. Student-athletes may be nominated at only one position.
To nominate student-athlete(s) for the Academic All-America® program, visit the Academic All-America® awards portal at
CoSIDA.com/awards and log in with your CoSIDA email address and password. (Note: If this is the first time you are logging into the new member portal, the default password is Password1 — you'll be prompted to change it upon log-in.) If you have forgotten your password, you can request a re-set link from the log-in page.
Reminder: Be sure to check your spam/junk folders for CoSIDA emails.
When you get to the awards portal home page, click on the
Nominate/Vote button and then
Click here to begin a new submission. You'll be asked to select a division, a gender for the sport and the sport itself. The online system will automatically determine the correct Academic All-America® district.
Completing the rest of the nomination form is a matter of providing statistical and career achievement data in the boxes provided. There are five data fields for additional supporting materials that have a maximum of 100 characters each for a total of 500 characters. This data can be copied and pasted from other applications.
Reminder: When filling in the shipping address, do NOT enter a PO box as a university address. The CoSIDA awards system cannot ship to PO boxes.
CoSIDA members have the option to save a nomination and submit it at a later time. Please note that there are
Save and
Submit buttons at the bottom of the nomination form. Nomination forms that have been saved still must be submitted before the nomination deadline!
When you are ready to submit the nomination form, hit
submit and the system will e-mail a receipt for the nomination. Make sure to save this confirmation e-mail.
The
nomination deadline is Tuesday, October 24, at 10 PM (Eastern), but don't wait until the last minute!
CRITERIA REMINDERS:
• The nominee must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
• Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form.
• Nominees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale). This
MAY NOT be rounded up to 3.30, thus, a student-athlete with a 3.299 GPA is not eligible. Nominees in graduate school must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better both as an undergrad AND in graduate school. For example, a student-athlete with GPAs of 3.0 in undergraduate work and 3.9 in graduate school would not be eligible, even if the average of the two combined was above 3.30.
• Nominees must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at your institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one calendar year at your institution. Graduate students who are competing at a different institution than the one from which they earned their undergraduate degree are eligible even if they are in their first semester at the graduate institution.
