Jenna Lodewyk
AUSTIN, Texas – Senior setter Jenna Lodewyk of Calvin College headlines the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division III volleyball teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A business major with a 3.88 cumulative GPA, Lodewyk has been selected as the recipient of the Academic All-America® of the Year award for Division III volleyball. Calvin College has had five of the last seven Academic All-America® selections (Rebecca Kamp, 2011; Lizzie Kamp, 2012; Maggie Kamp, 2014 & 2015).
A first team selection this year to the Division III Academic All-America Team, Lodewyk is now a three-time honoree. She was a member of the second team in 2016 and a third team selection in 2015.
A native of Villa Park, Illinois, Lodewyk is a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-America selection. She was a second team AVCA All-America selection this year and earned second team honors in 2016 and 2015. She was a third team All-America pick in 2014. The second four-time All-American in Calvin’s history, Lodewyk averaged 9.54 assists per set and 2.16 digs per set for the Knights this season. A four-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) All-Conference selection, she had a .365 hitting percentage this year.
Eighteen of the 23 members of the 2017-18 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division III volleyball teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with 11 student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The seven members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.97.
Lodewyk and Haley Bergan (Loras College) are repeat performers from last year’s Academic All-America® teams. Bergan is a first team selection this year, following third team recognition in 2016.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division III Academic All-America® teams program.
