
Developed by the
NCAA Office of Inclusion, Leadership Development and Media Coordination and Statistics staff in partnership with CoSIDA, the
NCAA Inclusion CoSIDA Convention Grant is an annual professional development opportunity geared toward countering the gap of inclusion, advancement and retention within the field of media relations/communications for women and ethnic minorities. This new grant will provide attendance at the CoSIDA Convention, mentorship and leadership opportunities during the academic year.
NCAA Inclusion Grant winners will receive the following courtesy of the NCAA and CoSIDA:
• Hotel and travel accommodations to the 2017 CoSIDA Convention in Orlando.
• Hotel and travel accommodations for a visit to the NCAA national office in Indianapolis.
Grant recipients will also receive a complimentary CoSIDA convention registration, CoSIDA membership and CoSIDA mentor pairing for one year.
Eligibility
• Two applicants from each NCAA division (I, II, and III) will be selected each year.
• Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to intercollegiate athletics (specifically related to sports information/media relations), and support of advancing and advocating for diversity within athletic communications.
• Athletics communicators from Division I, Division II, and Division III with five years or less in the industry are encouraged to apply.
Note: 2017 CoSIDA Convention Attendance grant winners are not eligible to win both grants. If an individual who was selected for the CoSIDA Convention Grant and applies for and is awarded the NCAA Inclusion Grant, that person will have to chose which one they will accept.

• Brief essay (800 words or less) on how they demonstrate the qualities listed above as well as what they hope to learn at convention and the national office visit
• Submit one supporting letter of recommendation
