"It was important for us to change our name to be more relevant to our stakeholders (CoSIDA members and in particular, women in CoSIDA). Rebranding from FAME to WoSIDA revived our group, increased our visibility and accelerated our growth.

Our goals are to continue engagement in the digital space, sponsor CoSIDA webinars, and have a presence throughout the year leading up to the annual convention. We welcome all CoSIDA members, male or female, to join WoSIDA. Members contribute to the growth and future success of our committee. It is a great way to serve women in CoSIDA at a higher level."
- Chevonne Mansfield, American Athletic Conference

"Many members of CoSIDA were not aware of what FAME was and by changing the name to WoSIDA, our group has a better brand identity. It also serves as a better connection with CoSIDA. Our goal is to serve the women in the athletic communications profession. We want to encourage, educate and empower our female members."
- Diane Nordstrom, Wisconsin

The long-time CoSIDA group Female Athletic Media Relations Executives (FAME) has re-branded and will now be known as WoSIDA (Women Sports Information Directors of America/Women of CoSIDA).

During the spring and summer of 2017, the group's steering committee (listed to the right) worked to develop a new logo (designed by CoSIDA Director of Creative Services Beau White), an updated mission statement and a new goals and value statement.

The steering committee reminds all CoSIDA members - male and female - that they are invited to join the group, advocate for our female CoSIDA members, and discuss issues pertinent to women in the athletic communications profession.

More details on WoSIDA can be found below, including a way for all CoSIDA members to join WoSIDA in our CoSIDA Connect online community. Please visit WoSIDA on Twitter and Facebook.

WoSIDA Mission Statement
Women Sports Information Directors of America (WoSIDA) is a subdivision of the College Sports Information Directors of America, dedicated to serving the women in the athletics communications/media relations field.

WoSIDA aims to encourage, empower and educate, while providing a positive and united presence for women in our field, both veterans and newcomers, and serving as their collective voice. We seek to act as an advocate for our constituents by encouraging diversity, promoting positive work environments and supporting equal opportunities for all in our profession, while increasing the representation of women.

Values
SUPPORT - We will aim to provide support and assistance to women in media relations with an emphasis on professional development, mentoring and networking.

LEADERSHIP - We aim to not only take a proactive role in the advancement of women in the future of our field, but also seek to place women in leadership roles within CoSIDA to better represent our membership as a whole.

EMPOWERMENT - We aim to provide strategies for promoting, encouraging and fostering success in the media relations field and beyond. We also will work to have the professional efforts of our members and others who support women and women's athletics recognized through organizational awards.

ADVOCACY - We aim to advocate for women's issues within the media relations field by providing positive messages, facilitating panels and discussion forums, developing suitable strategies to deal with those issues, and, when appropriate, presenting them to the CoSIDA board/membership as a whole.
