CoSIDA would like to thank everyone who made the third CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week a success.

To some up the week in one tweet, we agree with Tim Hanson of Rogers State:

This year we saw more great examples of athletic directors, commissioners, student-athletes, media, members of national associations and coaching associations and others saluting our members throughout the week both on social media and in-person on campus. In the true spirit of the week, many members also took time to honor their mentors, co-workers and friends.

The CoSIDA staff especially thanks the members of the committee that helped develop and implement everything that went into the week including Sam Atkinson (Gallaudet, CoSIDA 2nd VP), Lindy Brown (Duke), Chas Dorman (Penn), Scott Eddy (St. Bonaventure), Tim Hanson (Rogers State), Michael Hawkins (Francis Marion), Stayson Isobe (Northern Arizona), Rob Knox (Towson, CoSIDA President), Morgan Romans (Vanderbilt), Steven Schauer (Concordia Wisconsin), Bill Smith (Liberty), Monyae Williamson (Western Illinois) and Amy Yakola (ACC).

Here's some of our favorite things we saw this week...

ESPN's Rece Davis and crew took time to recognize SIDs and mention CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week during the College GameDay broadcast on Saturday, Nov. 10. After a call for the best football game note, Davis shared his personal favorite courtesy of Rich Wanninger, Senior Associate Commissioner for External Relations at the Patriot League. Click here to read more about how the segment came to be in this story from CoSIDA Executive Director Doug Vance.

During the broadcast of the LSU vs. Arkansas Game, the SEC Network did a segment on LSU's Michael Bonnette. Brian Baublitz of Coppin State captured a video and shared it to Facebook Group Things about being an SID that are AWESOME!

After her boss was featured, Alissa Cavaretta wrote an amazing piece — To My Bosses and Mentors in the SID World, Thank You — on her personal blog paying tribute to her coworkers and reflecting on what it means to be an SID. This five minute must-read that is worth your time.
There were simply too many great moments to list them all but here are some more of the top posts:

Sometimes heroes aren't the ones making the game winning catch or the one standing in the spotlight holding up the trophy. Sometimes, heroes are the ones who get there before, work relentlessly during the game and stay long after everyone else has gone home. Alan Babbitt, our Sports Information Director, is just that person and our hero this week. Alan is in charge of the stats during games, press releases after and works tirelessly to make sure Hope Athletics is recognized on a national level. FOR ALL 22 SPORTS! Alan, you live out what it means to "BE TRUE" to your passions and we are so grateful for your dedication to excellence! @cosidanews #ThankYourSID #CoSIDA #HopeHeroes #BeStrongBeTrue
