The following 10 NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball scholar-athletes were named as 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America® honorees this week - and they also are continuing their seasons in their respective NCAA national championship tournaments, with the men's competition starting today (March 15) and the women's beginning on March 16.
We congratulate these
five male and
five female Academic All-America® recipients, and wish them well during their March Madness postseason competition!
West Virginia University senior guard
Jevon Carter headlines these Division I AAA honorees. Carter, a sport management major with a 3.51 grade point average (GPA), was selected as the CoSIDA Academic All-America® of the Year for Division I men’s basketball.
We also will be following the Academic All-America® men's and women's basketball honorees from our other three AAA divisions (NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III) along with our College Division selections (from the NAIA and NJCAA) as they participate in their respective national tournaments. These national postseason tourneys began prior to the announcement of the AAA teams, so we will be following their progress over the next few weeks.
