CoSIDA will present a live streaming of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, June 281 from the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland - site of the 2018 CoSIDA convention held in conjunction with NACDA and Affiliates Convention Week.

The ceremony takes place from 7-9 p.m. Eastern at the Gaylord’s Potomac A-B ballroom. The event will be available to be viewed live at http://cosida.com/watch.

Following the livestream, the Hall of Fame ceremony will then be on-demand on CoSIDA.com after the evening's event.

The induction ceremony, in its ninth year, is open to all CoSIDA and NACDA convention attendees free of charge. The four distinguished members of the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Hall of Fame Class of 2018 are:

Harry Edwards, Ph.D., human and civil rights icon and distinguished American sociologist who was a two-sport athlete in basketball and track and field for San José State University;

Jason Hanson, a record-setting placekicker for Washington State and retired record-setting NFL placekicker who spent his entire 21-year pro career playing for the Detroit Lions;

Mike Lowell, who parlayed his Florida International University (FIU) baseball achievements into a 13-year Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees, Florida Marlins and Boston Red Sox with World Series appearances and World Series MVP honors to his credit;

• and Peyton Manning, the NFL record-setting and two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback and Super Bowl XLI Most Valuable Player who starred at the University of Tennessee prior to his brilliant NFL career.

Created in 1988, the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Hall of Fame recognizes former Academic All-Americas who received a college degree at least 10 years ago, have achieved lifetime success in their professional careers, and are committed to philanthropic causes. Each annual class is chosen by a committee comprised of CoSIDA leaders and former Academic All-America honorees.

Additionally, Bill Walton, three-time UCLA basketball All-America and a CoSIDA Academic All-America® during his legendary college career who went on to NBA Hall of Fame acclaim, will be recognized at the event with the 2018 Dick Enberg Award. The Enberg Award is presented annually to a person whose actions and commitment have furthered the meaning and reach of the Academic All-America® Teams Program and/or the student-athlete while promoting the values of education and academics.

The June 28th Hall of Fame induction ceremony will feature ESPN's Rece Davis as emcee. There also will be a tribute to the late legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg, the long-time ambassador of the Academic All-America® program, with Ted Enberg, his son, as special guest.
