University of the Cumberlands Student Government Association Honors CoSIDA Member Tommy Chasanoff as the the Honored Staff Member for 2019-20

Each year the Student Government Association honors one male and one female professor in addition to one staff member for their commitment to the University of the Cumberlands and its students.
 
This year SGA has named Sports Information Director Tommy Chasanoff as the Honored Staff Member for the 2019-2020 school year. Chasanoff is entering his fourth year as the Sports Information Director at UC. His leadership has made the Sports Information Departments one of the most successful in the country. UC Athletics has seen astronomical improvements in website views as well as social media following with both ranking inside the top five of the NAIA. Cumberlands has had over 1 million website views in each of the past two years, almost tripling the previous mark prior to Chasanoff. Over Chasanoff’s four years UC student-athletes have garnered a plethora of conference and national recognition.

In addition to his success at Cumberlands, Chasanoff has been active within the NAIA, NAIA-SIDA Board, and CoSIDA. He has served as the media coordinator for eight NAIA National Championships and is currently at At-Large member of the NAIA-SIDA Board. Chasanoff has had a strong presence within CoSIDA serving on both the Goodwill & Wellness Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee in addition to the being a member of the CoSIDA Mentorship Program.
