In an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle and create a fun and supportive program around health and wellness, CoSIDA along with the Goodwill and Wellness Committee will launch CoSIDA Fit Month in March.
 
The program will be a comprehensive approach with each week focusing on a different initiative. The program will cover exercise, nutrition, mental health and community service.
 
Each week there will be a set of goals for the week where members can accumulate points through accomplishing the goals. Those with the most points will earn special recognition.
 
The main source for all information and updates about CoSIDA Fit Month will be the CoSIDA Fit Club Facebook group. Members are encouraged to post and motivate each other throughout the month on this platform. Content will also be posted on CoSIDA Connect.
 
Members will report their points through a google form document.
 
The 2019 CoSIDA Fitness Challenge will start in April.
 
CoSIDA Fit Month Details

Dates: March 4-31

Goals for each week
 
Week 1: Exercise
  • Try a new form of exercise.
  • Log four sessions of 30 minutes of physical activity during the week.
  • Do a form of exercise with a member of your office.
  • Ride your bike or walk to work.
  • Work out in a hotel on a road trip.
  • Take a picture doing one of the above and post it to the CoSIDA Fit Club Facebook page or on twitter using the hashtag #FitSID.
 
Week 2: Nutrition
  • Share a healthy recipe on the CoSIDA Fit Club Facebook page.
  • Join the CoSIDA group on MyFitnessPal App.
  • Log food diary on the MyFitnessPal App.
  • Organize a staff lunch at a local healthy choice location.
  • Meal prep prior to the start of the week.
  • Order healthy snacks for the office/in media room/press box.
  • Take a picture of something above and post it on the CoSIDA Fit Club Facebook page or on twitter with the hashtag #FitSID.
 
Week 3: Mental Health
  • Call someone each day during the week that you haven’t connected with in a while.
  • Each day write down one thing you are grateful for and if it involves someone else share it with them.
  • At the end of the day take 5 minutes to reflect and identify one positive thing that happened.
  • Download the free app HeadSpace and complete one of the basic tracks each day of the week/meditate daily.
  • Make sleep a priority and get 7-9 hours of sleep each night during the week.
 
Week 4: Community Service
  • Volunteer time in your community.
  • Do a random act of kindness for someone else.
  • Take a picture of something above and post it on the CoSIDA Fit Club Facebook page or on twitter with the hashtag #FitSID.
