Former CoSIDA president and 2017 CoSIDA Hall of Fame inductee Pete Kowalski has announced his retirement from his long-time position as Director of Championship Communications for the United States Golf Association (USGA). long-time college athletic communicator before he left for a professionals golf position. He spent 21 years at the USGA, covering 132 championships globally which included 21 U.S. Open Championships. Prior to his USGA position, Kowalski headed athletic media relations departments at Rutgers University (1988-98) and at his alma mater, Penn State University (1980-88). He served as CoSIDA President during the 1997-98 academic year while he was at Rutgers.
