CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week, celebrated in 2019 for the fourth-straight year on November 6-12, has become a highlight of the association's calendar.
But, it's not about CoSIDA the organization, nor should it be. Rather, it's all about the associate and assistant athletic directors, the SIDs, assistants, interns, graduate assistants and students who work strategically every day to publicize their institutions, teams and student-athletes.
You are at the heart of CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week.
So, to you, our member communications professionals, we encourage you to take a moment during the week (and before and after too) to be thankful for the opportunity you have to work in collegiate athletics. Thank your supervisor-SID, thank your assistants. Or take time to re-connect with colleagues at other schools.
And, to coaches and other athletic administrators, say 'thank you' to your sports information staff members. They selflessly work long hours to make your institution look its best. Buy them doughnuts (or perhaps a healthier snack), honor them at an upcoming home game, recognize them at a staff meeting or team practice. Most importantly, just tell them you appreciate what they do and how valuable they are to your teams' success.
As an association, CoSIDA is proud to represent sports information staff members on campuses and in conference offices throughout the United States and Canada. And, it's a privilege to celebrate our members for all they do, not just for a week in November but all year long.
To you, we say THANK YOU and have a great year!

"CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week gives us all a chance to publicly appreciate each other and receive appreciation ourselves, It's not often that we step out from behind the camera, microphone or computer to be applauded for the tireless hours we put in, but CoSIDA gives that opportunity during this week."
