Questions Submitted That Were Unable To Be Answered On The Webinar Due To Time
Answers provided by Jeff Williams. Email jswilliams@ncaa.org for further clarification or with other questions.
In soccer, does Genius ask which goalkeeper won the game, as StatCrew does?
If one goalie plays for each team, it does record updates automatically. If multiple goalies play, it credits the win/loss/tie to whomever is in goal when the GWG or GTG occurs.
In soccer, does Genius have quick way to note that a second-half lineup is the same as the first-half starting lineup?
There will be both a wave sub and reselect starters button in the application.
Note: Questions specific to how the software works are best asked directly to the Genius support staff by emailing NCAAsupport@geniussports.com. Many answers specific to how the software works can also be found by participating in a LiveStats training webinar. For a listing of webinar times, go here: ncaamanager.com/know-more.
If we made the jump from the NAIA to D-II in 2011, if a coach was here 11 seasons, but his first few years were in the NAIA, he would not show up in the all-time since he was only a D-II coach for 8 seasons, instead of all 11 years he has here at our institution?
For head coaching records, if “apply minimums” is selected, a coach will only show up on the all-time list IF he/she has coached a minimum of 10 years in that division. For example, if you look at this coach' year-by-year: https://stats.ncaa.org/people/39527?sport_code=WBB, you’ll see that the first three years do show as non-member. You can get the coach to show up by either removing the apply minimums or removing the division (if he/she has more than 10 years overall) and then click the coach to get more detail on that coach.
How can we adjust transfers that have been entered into the database as new players in our roster?
Reach out to Jeff Williams directly by emailing jswilliams@ncaa.org and we can try to help you out. Depending on how long it’s been wrong we’ll do our best to get it corrected.
Is there a place on the NCAA site that houses logos for emerging sports for women, such as rugby, triathlon, wrestling, etc.?
We do not have NCAA sport-specific logos for emerging sports for women. For more detailed information, definitions and guidelines for emerging sports, please go to http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/inclusion/emerging-sports-women and http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/inclusion/ncaa-emerging-sports-women-process-guide.
