How To Connect With Local Media Outlets (TV, Newspaper, Online) During COVID-19
Original Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2020
Watch the discussion with two media members from Kentucky (print and TV media) who offer their insights and suggestions on how SIDs can best work with their local media during this CoVID-19 crisis. Due to budget cuts around the country in media, many news stations aren’t able to cover teams like they normally would, and panelists Brian Milam and Kal Oakes discussed how to work with media to get content they need for their recaps, website posts, notebook blogs, print newspaper and live sports segments on the news. They offered strategies on how an SID can best get attention in a crowded market, and the importance of building relationships and trust - and how you go about creating those strong relationships with your local media so that your stories will be told.
Watch (or listen via podcast) to Brian, Kal and moderator Jenny Elder as they answer the questions sent in by attendees.
