Join/Renew CoSIDA Membership for 2020-21
As part of CoSIDA’s new governance structure roll-out, the 2020-21 Advisory Council and Divisional Cabinets have been formed and are listed below.
CoSIDA first vice president
Cindy Potter and second vice president
Jessica Poole will co-chair the Advisory Council, which consists of a representative of each divisional cabinet and CoSIDA secretary
Jeff Hodges.
Each division had the autonomy to form its own structure within its cabinets.
CoSIDA’s leadership framework was
approved by the membership in June 2020 and is in the midst of a three-year phased-in transition.
The new approach includes three levels of leadership comprising seven divisional cabinets (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, Two-Year Colleges, Canadian Institutions and Past Presidents) with one designated leader from each of those groups forming the advisory council.
The top level of governance will be the Executive Board of Directors and, once fully phased-in, will include the President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 3rd Vice President, two at-large representatives (serving a two-year term each) with one designated as college division, the immediate Past President, and Secretary. The CoSIDA staff serves as ex-officio members of the board. Those now serving on the Executive Board of Directors will complete their full terms.
CoSIDA moves to a new governance structure more streamlined, efficient and responsive to member needs and initiatives throughout the divisions and will increase opportunities for leadership in the organization.
As a result of the representation and leadership guaranteed at each level within the association, the College Division Management Advisory Council (CDMAC) has been dissolved.
