Virtual Town Hall: Navigating difficult challenges in uncertain times.

Across the world, communications professionals and our communities we live and work in are battling and grappling with so many unknowns with the COVID-19 crisis. For our CoSIDA members, their college sports colleagues and our partners and stakeholders, we started a new webinar series, Listening and Leading Presented by Capital One, to take a look at the issues and challenges facing us and answer questions as we can as it concerns our members.
Our Tuesday, March 24th CoSIDA Virtual Town Hall with CoSIDA leaders kicked off the series. Led by 2019-20 CoSIDA President Herb Vincent and CoSIDA Executive Director Doug Vance, the webinar covered the following topics and answered attendee questions.
- The latest developments for the upcoming 2020 CoSIDA Convention (June 7-10 in Las Vegas), with questions and answers about ongoing registration, Early Bird registration period stays intact, refunds if the convention might be cancelled, and much more
- The status of the 2020 CoSIDA Special Awards program (yes, recognition for the honorees is continuing and ongoing)
- Status of the spring Academic All-America Program and changes to the nomination process; those changes will be announced on March 25
- Status of the 2020 Academic All-America Hall of Fame (announcements of the 2020 class to come in the next few weeks)
- Preview of upcoming Listening and Leading webinars (Mental Health Support: Anxiety- Fear of the Unknown on March 26, Working From Home on March 31), with more to be scheduled
- Discussion and promotion of the new CoSIDA Coffee Shop informal virtual hangouts and how to sign up (free) for them
- Review of the upcoming April and May Capital One Teachable Tuesday webinar and NAIA-SIDA monthly webinars
- “Business as usual” with ongoing CoSIDA Publications and Digital Design contest (deadline April 9) and the CoSIDA Scholarship and Grants Program (deadline April 28)
- Status of CoSIDA Salary Survey (results to be presented in April 16 webinar)
