CoSIDA Salutes #D3Week

CoSIDA Salutes #D3Week

The annual NCAA Division III Week celebration is ongoing this week (April 13-19), and CoSIDA salutes all our Division III members who serve in leadership role within our organization.

NCAA Division III Week gives the college athletics community a chance to observe and celebrate the impact that athletics, student-athletes, coaches and administrators have on their campuses and conferences and in the surrounding community.

Over the history of CoSIDA, we've had a roster of outstanding contributions from our Division III members. Currently (see the graphic and names below), there are numerous Division III leaders in CoSIDA. They represent the CoSIDA officers (Sam Atkinson of Galludet, 1st Vice-President) and the CoSIDA Board of Directors (Atkinson, Amie Canfield of Vassar, Danny Kambel of Pacific [Ore.], KatieJo Kuhens of Bethany Lutheran, Danielle Percival of Piedmont and Lenny Reich of Mount Union).

Ann King of Sage Colleges serves as chair of D3SIDA. Additionally, six Division III members are chairs of CoSIDA year-round committees, as Jeff Bernstein (NYU) heads the Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest Committee, Mark Fleming (Moravian) is head of the Academic All-America® Hall of Fame Committee, Kambel chairs the Job Seekers Committee, Rose-Hulman's Kevin Lanke leads the Academic All-America Core Committee, Brian Laubscher (Washington & Lee) is Scholarship Committee chair, and Chris Mitchell (Washington University in St. Louis) heads the Goodwill and Wellness Committee.

Ira Thor (New Jersey City University) heads the CDMAC (College Division management advisory committee). Thanks to our vice-chairs of committees who are D3 members: Mike Falk (Muhlenberg, Stabley Writing Contest); Steve Flegal (Whitworth, CoSIDA U Committee); Craig Hicks (Denison, Academic All-America Core Committee); and Chris Sabato (Willamette, New Media Committee). We also want to recognize the work of many Division III members who serve on our CoSIDA Recognition Week committee, those who contribute to our CoSIDA 360 magazine issues as well as those who contribute written, video and podcast content on our CoSIDA communications platforms.

So many more of our Division III members serve on our committees and in the D3SIDA leadership as well.

We so appreciate the commitment and volunteerism of our Division III members – thank you!
