Explaining the value of athletic communications professionals and offering our members strategies to define their value and contributions, especially in our challenging times of dealing with the COVID-19 crisis on our campuses and in our organizations.
The four presenters also addressed the following questions, challenging our atttendees: How do you, that athletic communications professional, get to the leadership table and how do you position yourself as a valuble contributer and strategic thinker? How can you be bold enough to speak up for yourself and your staff members?
This was the focus of the webinar and the presenters also looked at some over-arching early data and analysis from the 2020 CoSIDA compensation and salary survet.
Other points of discussion included:
- Insight on how you can make the case that your job is essential.
- Crafting your own professional story to show how you are supporting your department and adding value in uncertain times
- Reviewing the strengths and skillsets of SIDs, and how to showcase and document those strengths and the work you produce
