Nominations Open For Vacant Board and Third VP Positions: - Deadline To Apply Extended Until May 19

Are you interested in becoming involved with your national CoSIDA organization?

The CoSIDA Nominating Committee is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals who are interested in serving in a leadership role on the Board of Directors for the 2020-21 year and beyond. Serving on CoSIDA's board of directors is a prominent leadership opportunity within the athletic communications profession.

There is tremendous momentum in - and for - our organization, and we are looking for members from all divisions who have passion for our profession to serve CoSIDA.

Three positions are open for service to start in the 2020-21 academic year. Positions include a new third vice-president (open to all regions) and three college division representatives - one from the Northeast region, one from the Central Region and one from the West Region.

The slate of candidates will be presented to the Nominating Committee, comprised of past presidents an those whose board positions end in June 2020. They will vote on the new board in early June.

Applications and supporting materials must be received no later than Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 5 PM Eastern.

Open Board Positions for 2020-21 and Beyond

For the third Vice President position and for any at-large position (when available), any current CoSIDA members from the USA and Canada may apply, as these are not tied to a geographical area.
 
3rd Vice President - (no geographic designation)
Serves a five-year term on the board (years of being 3rd VP, 2nd VP, 1st VP, President, then Past President) with specific assignments each year. Your commitment includes two conference calls per month, additional days of meetings at the annual CoSIDA Convention, a potential summer meeting at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, a mid-year meeting at the annual NCAA Convention, and involvement as committee liaison as well as projects and special duties to be determined.
 
College Division Representatives (3 available) - Northeast Region position; Central Region position; West Region position
College division members of the Board of Directors shall be elected at the annual meeting of the Association and shall represent institutions which are not classified as Division I in either football or basketball. College division members of the Board may be elected to three-year terms.
 
The Northeast Region is comprised of schools/conferences in the following states and Canadian provinces: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia.
 
The Central Region is comprised of schools/conferences in the following states and Canadian provinces: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Manitoba, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Ontario, Wisconsin.

The West Region is comprised of schools/conferences in the following states and Canadian provinces: Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Yukon Territory.

With our in-person #CoSIDA2020 Convention canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, selections will be made during the first week of June in a virtual nomination meeting with past presidents and the out-going board members. We will announce our 2020-21 board when we conduct a virtual CoSIDA business meeting later in June (date TBA).
