Statistics Management Techniques: Policy Adjustments from the NCAA & NAIA
The how-tos of record-keeping with the impact of COVID19.
Original Date: April 30, 2020
Presenters from both the NCAA Media Coordination and Statistics staff and from the NAIA outline the new policies for statistical record-keeping, historical files, listings of team/coaches/championship records and standings with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on college sports. They discussed how winter sports championships stats and records, which were disrupted, and spring sports, which were canceled mid-season, will be counted or will not be counted. Additionally, updates on new NCAA LiveStats and Genius Sports software for football and ice hockey were discussed. Lots of webinars and training sessions will be offered on NCAA LiveStats, beginning in May. More information can be found at ncaamanager.com (go to Know More link.)
They also answered specific questions from the attendees.
