CoSIDA Career Center Disclaimer
CoSIDA is collaborating with Trip Durham of 2D Consulting to offer career coaching strategies and training through the W.I.N. Coaching initiative
; CoSIDA Job Seekers Committee offers new resume review program; Freelance and help wanted database now available
This fall, CoSIDA is expanding its career center opportunities for CoSIDA members, consisting of specialized
coaching,
services, and
resources to support athletic communicators on their professional journeys and advancements.
In this new three-part approach to career coaching/counseling/assistance, CoSIDA will:
- partner with Trip Durham, President of 2D Consulting, LLC to offer extensive career coaching opportunities for CoSIDA members and potential members – at an affordable price
- offer a peer resume review service from CoSIDA’s Job Seekers Committee
- keep an active Freelance and Help Wanted Database on CoSIDA.com
"These are more examples and opportunities of how CoSIDA is advocating for its members and profession,” noted Sam Atkinson, 2020-21 CoSIDA President and Gallaudet University Associate AD/Communications. “CoSIDA is excited to continue our relationship with Trip Durham as he offers his strategic career advancement coaching to help our members seeking employment or for those looking to advance their own careers. This is an excellent opportunity, at a very affordable price, for our members to participate in the ‘Career Coaching for the W.I.N. Initiative’ with Durham.
"One thing the CoSIDA leadership group has discussed in the past, is the need for a national SID freelance and help database, considering many of us only have a list of a handful of people in our area to call upon for freelance services. When members switch jobs or want to freelance on the side it is hard to know where to start. Now our members will be able to access this national freelance database to help with their statistical game coverage, graphics and other SID needs or to add themselves to the database for freelance opportunities. And, we thank the CoSIDA Job Seekers Committee for extending and expanding their peer resume review services.”

CoSIDA Job Seekers Committee Peer Resume Review
New to our CoSIDA members through the Job Seekers Committee, we are excited to announce an opportunity to have your resume reviewed by your peers. Traditionally, the committee’s primary focus has been centered around CoSIDA’s annual convention, but this new feature is a way the Job Seekers Committee can better serve our organization on a year-round basis.
The Job Seekers Committee has a group of dedicated individuals assigned to review your current, most up-to-date resume, provide feedback and suggestions and ensure that when your next opportunity arises, you stand out to employers. The Job Seekers resume review is open to all CoSIDA members and priority will be given to those who are currently actively seeking positions.
Individuals interested in this service should email their current resume to
cosidajobseeker@gmail.com. From there, committee chair, Matt McCollester (University of Richmond), or vice chair, Shelby Hild (Illinois State University), will assign your resume review to a member of the resume review subcommittee, who will connect with you within a week of submission.
Additionally, individuals can continue to request to have their resume posted in
CoSIDA’s Job Seekers Resume database within the Career Center.
CoSIDA Freelance and Help Wanted Database
CoSIDA is also excited to offer members a new resource as part of the CoSIDA Career Center — the Freelance and Help Wanted Database. This service aims to create a listing to assist in connecting individuals seeking freelance opportunities and those who need freelance help. Any qualified CoSIDA members, non-members, current or former SIDs, or others are welcome to request to be added.
