The 6th Annual CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week is November 3-9.
Follow along at CoSIDA.com/ThankYourSID
Celebrating its sixth anniversary, CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week begins this Wednesday, Nov. 3, and continues through Tuesday, Nov. 9.
The week is an opportunity for those who interact with collegiate athletics communications professionals to observe and honor the impact that athletics communications and creative staff members have on intercollegiate athletics.
The celebration was created to show appreciation for athletic communicators, to showcase their efforts and accomplishments, and to bring positive recognition to them and to their work in promoting student-athletes and their institutions/conferences throughout all levels of intercollegiate athletics.
“This continues to be a great week for our profession to be recognized. I hope that each of our members take the time to acknowledge their colleagues that are working hard and who have influenced them positively throughout their career,” said CoSIDA President Cindy Potter of Columbia (Mo.) College. “This network of CoSIDA members is strong and powerful when we come together to celebrate each other.”
Throughout the week, CoSIDA will share stories of our members and highlight support from our friends across college athletics.
Athletic departments, campus communications offices, media, current and former student-athletes, coaches organizations and other groups are encouraged to recognize their athletics communications and creative staff members during this special week. Recommendations and ideas on how to do so are included in our
CoSIDA Week Media Kit.
“College athletic communicators work tirelessly to highlight the amazing student-athletes, coaches, administrators and programs on their respective institutions,” said Membership Recognition Committee chair Amy Yakola of the Atlantic Coast Conference. “One of the most powerful aspects of working in college athletics is being part of a team that’s committed to positively affecting the lives of those they serve. We encourage everyone to take time during this week’s membership recognition week to salute the ongoing efforts of their athletic communications teammates.”

Enter the ESPN College GameDay Football Game Note Contest
Once again in honor of CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week, Rece Davis of ESPN is looking for the best game notes in college football — from all divisions — and he’s asked CoSIDA to help him find them.
SIDs are invited to submit their best, most creative game note for consideration. It can be about your team, your coach or a student-athlete. Selected CoSIDA representatives will pick the top three-to-five notes and pass them along to Rece, who will make the final selection of what he will use. If your note is selected, he will use it on Saturday’s (November 6) College Football GameDay show in recognition of CoSIDA Membership Recognition Week. College GameDay will be on site in Cincinnati beginning at 9 AM (Eastern) where the Bearcats take on Tulsa that afternoon.
Said Davis: “It can be from any program, any game, but give me a GREAT note. The best ones would be bite sized and easily understandable, yet not overly simplistic.”
All submissions must be emailed to CoSIDA Executive Director
Doug Vance at
dougvance@cosida.com by
Thursday, Nov. 4, at noon (Eastern) for a chance to have your note be part of the broadcast.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain recognition on College GameDay while helping bring special recognition to CoSIDA.
