In A Landslide Vote, CoSIDA Members Approves New Governance Structure

Are you interested in becoming involved with your national CoSIDA organization?
The CoSIDA Nominating Committee is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals who are interested in serving in a leadership role on the Board of Directors for the 2021-22 year and beyond.
Due to the restructuring of the CoSIDA governance structure and the addition of the CoSIDA Cabinet for 2020-21 and beyond, there is only one Board opening available - to serve as CoSIDA’s Third Vice President in the officers rotation.
This Third VP position is open to any current CoSIDA member from any area of the United States or Canada.
Serving on CoSIDA's board of directors is a prominent leadership opportunity within the athletic communications profession. There is tremendous momentum in - and for - our organization, and we are looking for members from all divisions who have passion for our profession to serve CoSIDA.
“Service on the CoSIDA Executive Board of Directors, particularly in the officer rotation, is a tremendously rewarding experience on both a personal and professional level,” noted Herb Vincent, SEC Associate Commissioner and CoSIDA immediate Past President who is coordinating this year’s nominations. “Service on the Board is an opportunity to develop professionally, to give back to the profession in a significant way and to help grow the organization for the future.”
Open Board Position for 2021-22 and Beyond
For the third Vice President position, any current CoSIDA members from the USA and Canada may apply, as it is not tied to a geographical area.
3rd Vice President - (no geographic designation)
Serves a five-year term on the board (years of being 3rd VP, 2nd VP, 1st VP, President, then Past President) with specific assignments each year. Your commitment includes two conference calls per month, additional days of meetings at the annual CoSIDA Convention, and, when resuming normal activities, a potential summer meeting at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, a mid-year meeting at the annual NCAA Convention, and involvement as committee liaison as well as projects and special duties to be determined.
The slate of Third VP candidates will be presented to the Nominating Committee, comprised of past presidents and those whose board positions end in June 2021. They will vote on the new board in early June.
