Outgoing President Sam Atkinson Gives President's Award to Five Deserving Members
Introduced in the 2014-15 academic year, this award recipient is
selected by the reigning CoSIDA President. This award serves to honor exemplary volunteer service and leadership within the organization's committee structure in support of programs that benefit CoSIDA members.
During the #CoSIDA21 Business Meeting held virtually on Thursday, June 10, Atkinson announced this year's recipients, which were:
Diane Nordstrom
Nordstrom is the outgoing chair of the Special Awards Committee.
Jessica Poole
Poole is the outgoing chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee which she spearheaded the development of in 2017. She also contributed to the development and planning of the Racial & Social Justice Initiative.
Scottie Rodgers
Rodgers was a lead planner and co-chair of the Racial & Social Justice Initiative programming.
Denise Thompson
Thompson was a lead planner and co-chair of the Racial & Social Justice Initiative programming.
Herb Vincent
Vincent developed the framework of the new CoSIDA governance structure which was overwhelmingly approved by the membership at the #CoSIDA2020 Virtual Convention and put into place for the 2020-21 academic year. He also contributed to the development and planning of the Racial & Social Justice Initiative.
