Mental health and emotional wellness for CoSIDA members
Follow-up on Depression and the SID research study
In the winter of 2020-21, researchers Chris Yandle, Ph.D. and Martha Dettl-Rivera, Ed.D., conducted a first of it’s kind survey with CoSIDA members on mental health and depression. Dr. Dettl-Rivera also spoke about the findings during the June 2020 #CoSIDA22 virtual convention session on mental and emotional health. To better understand depression symptoms among college athletic communications personnel, the researchers plan to conduct qualitative interviews to determine themes and feelings among a representative population of the CoSIDA membership body. Welcome Our 2021-22 Executive Board of Directors, Advisory Council, Divisional Cabinets & Committee Members
CoSIDA is thrilled to welcome Cindy Potter of Columbia College (Mo.) as President in 2021-22. She is the fifth female to serve in the role in CoSIDA history and the first person from an NAIA school. When she took the gavel virtually from Sam Atkinson of Gallaudet during #CoSIDA21, it was the first time the pass occurred between two college division officers. Kevin Trainor of Arkansas was elected Third Vice President. His vacated at-large representative role on the board was filled by Katie Mucci of the Missouri Valley Conference, who will serve a one-year term. For a listing of CoSIDA leaders, click here, or find full rosters under the "About Us" tab on CoSIDA.com.
