Ahead of the February Winter Olympics in Beijing, GWI, an audience insights company, surveyed a total of 10,266 consumers (aged 16-64 across nine markets - UK, US, France, Germany, Italy, India, Brazil, Japan and China). The survey results indicated that interest in the Winter Olympics is high, and that there is a generational divide where extreme sports will secure viewers of the future, and how "catch-up" highlights and packages from the Winter Olympics will be popular.
