CSC Diversity & Inclusion Resources
Beginning this month and continuing through the 2022-23 academic year, the College Sports Communicators Diversity and Inclusion Committee will focus educational efforts on providing CSC members with resources and information to help strengthen diversity, equity and inclusion programs in their respective departments, conference offices and organizations.
The Critical Content Series will feature monthly posts on CSC’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts as well as other communications platforms. The information and resources will serve as a lead-up to the committee’s convention programming, which will focus on the theme “Diversity and Inclusion Is More Than You Think.”
“Knowledge is power and in helping our members become better DEI advocates, we want to create a journey of learning to support and complement their efforts to grow as communicators and college athletics professionals,” said Scottie Rodgers, CSC Diversity and Inclusion Committee Chair and Director of Communications at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
Since its inception six years ago, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee has provided programming at the annual convention and throughout the year to help members understand how diversity, equity and inclusion practices fit in the daily interactions of an athletics communications environment.
The committee has partnered with the CSC Executive Board of Directors to bring critical conversations forward on racial and social justice and inclusion issues and has collaborated with the Board’s Racial and Social Justice Initiative on the CSC Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program powered by the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics.
