It was through a chance assignment to the athletics communications staff as a work-study student that Coleman found her true calling. It’s not uncommon these days to see her compete in a field event and then take pictures and write recaps for her job in sports information.

CoSIDA extends job postings from 30 to 60 days at no extra cost

Due to current market conditions, CoSIDA is extending the duration of all single job postings and multi-listing packages from 30 days to 60 days to give our members a longer period to find qualified candidates.

At the member rate of $125 for a 60-day listing, CoSIDA offers the most competitive prices among all the major college athletics jobs boards and delivers some of the best results for communications and creative jobs. The non-member rate of $250 also is below or at the rate of other listing services.

This adjustment allows paid job posters more time to browse the Job Seekers profile database. You must have an active job posting to access the Job Seekers information.

Job posters still have the option to close their listings earlier at their discretion.

To post a job, go to CareerCenter.CoSIDA.com, navigate to the Employer tab and create a new account. It is not tied to any previous CoSIDA log ins.

CoSIDA strengthens Academic All-America® awards program with significant enhancements for 2022-23

Download the 2022-23 AAA Master Calendar

One of the highest awards in college sports is undergoing significant changes to honor more student-athletes and raise the profile of the prestigious Academic All-America® program.

Sponsored by CoSIDA since 1952, the retooled award program debuts in October and will add two new sports, increase the required GPA and eliminate district voting to advance nominated students to the national All-America ballots.

At its June meeting in Las Vegas, CoSIDA’s Executive Board of Directors approved a plan presented by the Academic All-America Core Committee to update the awards criteria and selection and strengthen several key components of the association’s signature program.

Highlights include:

  • Elimination of All-District voting (all eligible nominations earn All-District)
  • An increase in the minimum GPA to nominate to 3.50
  • The addition of Men’s Swimming & Diving and Women’s Swimming & Diving as sport-specific contests in the winter (previously included in the At-Large program)
  • The addition of Men's Tennis and Women’s Tennis as sport-specific contests in the spring (previously included in the At-Large program)
  • A limit on the maximum number of submissions by a school in each sport (see the chart below)
  • Later nomination periods to include more complete season data

All member information and details about the program have been updated on CoSIDA.com.

Welcome new CoSIDA Executive Board of Directors members

CoSIDA is excited to welcome Jessica Poole of Chicago State University as President in 2022-23 — the first Black woman to serve in the role in the association's history. She is the sixth female to serve in the role and the second in a row after taking the gavel from Cindy Potter (Columbia College (Mo.)) at #CoSIDA22. Mary Beth Challoner of Toronto was selected to be Third Vice President, vacating her College Division At-Large spot on the board. She would be the first CoSIDA president from a Canadian institution in 2025-26. The trio mark the first time three women are serving in the officer rotation at the same time.

Donnie Smith of the NAIA's Southeastern University will fill the remaining one year in the College Division At-Large spot vacated by Challoner. J.D. Campbell of Indiana was chosen to fill the At-Large Representative term (two years). Details about the composition of the Advisory Council and any changes to the Divisional Cabinet rosters will be posted when available.
