From the Desk of President John Paquette – You're invited to join us in Vegas for #CSCUnite24!
by John Paquette – 2023-24 College Sports Communicators President @wjpaquette
BIG EAST Conference, Senior Associate Commissioner, Sports Media Relations
Please allow me the opportunity to encourage you to attend our convention, #CSCUnite24, in Las Vegas on June 9-12. Convention and hotel registration opens today, Feb. 14, at Noon (Eastern).

The convention has been one of my favorite experiences in college athletic communications. I learn at some of the panels, listen to some outstanding speakers, and admire how we honor deserving people in and out of our profession.
But most of all, it’s the social opportunities that I enjoy. Getting together with old friends and making some new ones. If you have read any of my previous entries, you know how special I think our personal relationships are.
#CSCUnite24 is the place for all of this. This year, we've seen a record number of applications for our convention attendance grants, which is very encouraging for the hopes we have for the younger people who are just getting started in our profession.
We have some outstanding programming scheduled. We are gearing our panels, speakers and presentations to keep our membership at the forefront of an ever-changing world of college athletics. As always, we have programming in collaboration with several NACDA affiliates and the popular Divisonal Day also returns.
In partnership with NACDA, CSC has made a financial commitment for all of us to have access to the NACDA Exhibit Hall once again.
We feel strongly that CSC has made strides in our second year under our new name. We have a record number of members, over 4,200. Our branding efforts have shown to be effective in the transition to our new name.
CSC has been represented at numerous events, including CALS, SBJ Forum and the NACDA Mid-Winter Meetings. We will be attending the NCAA Inclusion Forum in April.
In January, the CSC Executive Board and staff, along with Michael MacEachern of Division II and Amie Canfield of Division III, got together at the NCAA Convention. It’s always great to meet face to face. We worked on some convention planning among many other topics. We're committed to keep moving forward for our membership throughout all divisions of athletic communications.
This year’s convention will be our second in Las Vegas. Honestly, we had some concerns about how many would be able to make it out to the Silver State a couple of years ago, but our attendance was strong with approximately 900 attendees. People seem to love making the trip to Vegas.
We want to see you there in June. Make your plans today!
John
