With the annual CoSIDA Convention days away, here are some tips to Job Seekers program participants whether you are looking for a job or hope to fill an opening.
Job SeekersIf you plan to be a job seeker in Tampa, please email your resume to Lawrence Fan, COSIDA Job Seekers co-chair, at
ltfan@email.sjsu.edu before June 25.
Resumes should be no longer than two pages. Pack 20 copies of your resume and place your resume on a flash drive. Bring resume-quality bond paper and copies of your work samples with you.
The Job Seekers area will open Sunday, June 29 at 1:00 p.m. Committee members will conduct a 30-minute orientation.
All job holders will be asked to provide job seekers with a 5-10 minute presentation about an available position. Presentations will take place in Meeting Rooms 5-6 and begin on June 29 at 2:00 p.m. If necessary, will continue Monday, June 30, at 2:15 p.m. Schedules will be posted in Meeting Rooms 5-6.
Job HoldersPrior to June 25, you can email your job announcement to Lawrence Fan at
ltfan@email.sjsu.edu. Please indicate whether or not you will be in Tampa and if you will conduct formal or informal interviews. Bring copies of your job announcement with you.
If possible, report to the Job Seekers area, Sunday, June 29 between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. A Job Seekers committee member will schedule your 5-10 minute presentation to job seekers.
The presentation should cover the job requirements, the characteristics you are seeking and the university or organization.
The purpose of the presentation is to generate positive interaction between job seekers and job holders in a no-obligation environment.
