The College Division Management Advisory Committee (CDMAC) was developed following a recommendation from the CoSIDA Executive Director and implemented by the CoSIDA Board of Directors in June 2008. The CDMAC was put in place as part of the Board’s strategic initiative of creating a more federated management structure within CoSIDA to encourage divisional leadership groups to take a more direct and personal responsibility approach to managing matters and issues specific to its membership within the overall CoSIDA organization. The total CoSIDA membership numbers over 2,800.

The CDMAC is an "umbrella" management group that includes NCAA DII-SIDA, NCAA DIII-SIDA, NAIA-SIDA, CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) and two-year institutions. Chaired in 2012-13 by Blake Timm (Pacific, Ore.), it focuses on joint-based issues, challenges and opportunities which arise that need input from all of these divisional groups; this input is a key component of the decision-making process. The leadership of the CDMAC works with the CoSIDA Executive Director and the Presidents of various divisional SIDA organizations to build working relationships with the NCAA and NAIA national staff as well as the leadership of various divisional Athletics Director Associations and Conference Commissioner Groups.

The CDMAC leadership group includes each of the respective Presidents of DII-SIDA, DIII-SIDA, NAIA-SIDA and CIS. In addition, it includes all College Division representatives on the CoSIDA Board of Directors as well as at-large appointees, regional-based representatives and the recent recipient of the College Division “Rising Star” award.

The CDMAC holds regular conference calls. Among its responsibilities are the following:

• conduct appropriate membership-based continuing education conference calls and webinars

• arrange conference calls with the leadership of other national division specific organizations

• develop and finalize specific "College Division Programming" for the annual CoSIDA Convention  and nominate deserving individuals for leadership positions and organizational awards.

In short, the CDMAC works to represent these respective divisions within CoSIDA and seeks to pro-actively advance specific initiatives within the overall structure of CoSIDA.
