The CoSIDA Goodwill and Wellness Committee is once again partnering with Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas to provide resources for those in need. Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties.

The community service event would allow convention attendees the opportunity to volunteer and pack hygiene kits for homeless people in Southern Nevada on-site at convention. The date and time of the service project will be announced later.

A Three Square representative will be on-site at Mandalay Bay to talk about their mission and welcome our group. Volunteers will have the opportunity to stop by the service area and assemble hygiene kits for however long they would like.

“With families and individuals finding themselves with fewer means to get by, we rely on community partnerships more than ever to provide essential resources to Southern Nevadans in need,” said Brian Burton, president and CEO of Three Square Food Bank. “We are deeply grateful for the CoSIDA Goodwill and Wellness Committee as they inspire their attendees to get involved and make a positive impact in our community.”

Another way for convention attendees to help would be to bring and donate select items off the list below with them when they travel to Las Vegas. The CoSIDA Goodwill and Wellness Committee will have a spot on-site where attendees can place these donated items.

Three Square’s mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. The food bank sources food product, raises funds and relies on volunteers to reach more than 363,000 hungry neighbors across the valley.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Three Square at the 2022 CoSIDA Convention in Las Vegas,” said Ryan Davis, vice chair of the CoSIDA Goodwill and Wellness Committee, and Assistant Commissioner for Communications at the Missouri Valley Conference. “After having two virtual service projects in 2020 and 2021, we are excited to provide convention attendees a chance to volunteer in person and have a hands-on service event to give back to the Vegas community.”

About
At each CoSIDA Convention, the Goodwill and Wellness Committee organizes a community service project that benefits a charity or non-profit organization in the host city. The service project is open to any CoSIDA and NACDA and Affiliates convention attendees to participate in.

In the beginning of this annual tradition the committee also held a donation drive during CoSIDA Convention registration (2010-15) where they would collect donations, such as clothing and toiletries, for the local charity.
