Want to take your CSC membership to the next level? Member volunteers are the heartbeat of many CSC programs that exist to provide advocacy, education, recognition, networking and community for our membership and profession.

Opportunities to serve exist year-round at these levels:

CSC members are encouraged to reach out at any time to any member of CSC leadership to inquire more about opportunities to get involved. This page will list many of the current opportunities.

CSC Executive Board of Directors and Divisional leadership positions

Listed below are positions scheduled to be open leading into the 2025-26 academic year.

  • Description:
    Applications for CSC 3rd Vice President will open in March 2026.

    The 3rd Vice President position is open to any current CSC member from any area of the U.S. or Canada. Advocate, retired, undergraduate student and honorary members are not eligible to serve in an Executive Board of Directors position.

    Term: 
    Third Vice President: 5 years (one year each as 3rd Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, President, Past President)

    Time commitment:
    Monthly Executive Board of Directors virtual conferences take place throughout the year. Executive Board members meet in person with national staff at the NCAA Convention in January, at the CSC Unite annual convention in June, and at a designated location for a late summer meeting typically held in August. Other travel may be requested by the Executive Director or the CSC President, based on availability, to represent CSC at various events.

    How to apply: 
    Applications will open for eligible CSC members beginning in March 2025, and must be submitted via a form available at CollegeSportsCommunicators.com. Applications will close at an announced date in mid-April.

    Process:
    In late April of 2026, applications for the 3rd Vice President position will be reviewed by the CSC Nominating Committee, which is comprised of past presidents and those whose board positions will end in June 2026. Candidates may be requested to participate in a Zoom interview with the Nominating Committee.

    The Nominating Committee then will present a proposed slate of Board members for 2026-27 to the Executive Board of Directors in mid-May, with a membership vote to be held during the association’s annual online business meeting in late May.

  • Description:
    Applications for CSC 2nd Vice President will open in March 2026. This special selection will occur as a result of a unplanned vacancy in the 3rd VP position that was filled by special appointment during 2025-26.

    The 2nd Vice President position is open to any current CSC member from any area of the U.S. or Canada. Advocate, retired, undergraduate student and honorary members are not eligible to serve in an Executive Board of Directors position.

  • Description:
    Applications for CSC Executive Board of Directors - College Division Representative will open in March 2026.

    The College Division Representative is open to any current CSC member from any area of the U.S. or Canada from a non-NCAA Division I institution or conference office. Advocate, retired, undergraduate student and honorary members are not eligible to serve in an Executive Board of Directors position.

    College Division Representative: 2 years

  • Description:

    The Atlantic region includes institutions from the CIAA, MEC, PSAC and Independent schools located in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

    Term: 
    Division II Atlantic Region Representative: 3 years

    Time commitment:
    Monthly Zoom board calls from September to May. The Division II Cabinet also plans the annual Division Divisional Day at CSC Unite. The president of the cabinet also represents Division II on CSC's Advisory Council that meets quarterly.

  • Description:

    The Atlantic region includes institutions from the GSC, SIAC, SSC and Independent schools located in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

    Term: 
    Division II South Region Representative: 3 years

    Time commitment:

  • Description:
    Applications for CSC NAIA Cabinet/NAIA-SIDA - At-Large Representative will open in April 2026. There will be two positions available.

    Any CSC member from an NAIA institution is eligible to apply.

    Term: 
    At-Large Representative: 2 years

    Time commitment:
    Monthly Zoom meetings (usually second Tuesday of the month). Board members are encouraged but not required to attend the NAIA-SIDA Divisional Day during the CSC Convention.

    How to apply: 
    Nominations are accepted prior to the CSC Convention — usually in April.

    Process:
    Each member institution gets one vote per open position on the Board. At-large members shall be elected by eligible voting members. The top vote-getter by vote of the eligible voting members shall be declared the winner. In the case of multiple open positions, it shall be the top vote getters as determined by the number of open positions. Each eligible voter will be allotted the same number of votes as open positions. Each at-large member shall serve a two- (2) year term on a rotating basis.

    Applications for Canadian Cabinet / CANCSC - President Elect will open April 2026.

    Any CSC member from a Canadian institution is eligible to apply.

    Term: 
    Presidential rotation: 4 years (1 year as President-Elect, 2 years as President, 1 year as Past President)

    Time commitment:
    Monthly Zoom meeting as well as the expectation when financially possible to attend the annual CSC Unite convention. As regional representatives, there is an expectation to be flexible with additional time if contacted by a colleague to bring things forward to the executive.

    How to apply: 
    Applications are open for eligible CSC members beginning in April. Applications will close at an announced date in early May. All applications will be submitted through CAN CSC’s application form.

  • Description:

    The At-Large representative is elected each year. The intent of this position is to provide opportunities to a young, up-and-coming professional and to enhance the diversity of the cabinet representation (gender, BIPOC, etc.).

    Once all applications are received, they are presented to the executive for a vote. Should a person be reoffering, they are considered a conflict of interest from their regional representative vote but are included in all other votes.

  • Description:
    Applications for Two-Year College Cabinet / 2YSIDA - 2nd Vice President will open in Spring 2025.

    Any CSC member from a Two-Year institution is eligible to apply.

    Term: 
    Second Vice President: 3 years (one year each as 2nd VP, 1st VP, President)

    Time commitment:
    The cabinet meets on a monthly basis via Zoom, or as needed. The cabinet is responsible for developing Two-Year College programming at the CSC Unite convention.

    How to apply: 
    Interested parties can express their willingness to serve to any 2YSIDA Executive Committee member.

    Process:
    Leadership positions are voted on by the Two-Year membership at the annual 2YSIDA business meeting in conjunction with the CSC Unite convention. General members are added by the Chair on an appointment basis.

Current open CSC committee positions and other opportunities

If you are interested in getting involved and don't see something here, reach out to the CSC staff with your interest to be involved.

  • Description:
    CSC members are needed to service as contest coordinators for one or more contests in the 2025-26 CSC Creative & Digital Design Contest. Coordinators are tasked with recruiting three judges (one can be yourself) to score all entries submitted for a category within the contest fostering an environment of fairness and non-bias in the scoring.

    Coordinators must be available to complete this work during the assigned time in late April or early May of 2026 and deliver results in a timely manner. 

    Coordinators must all attend one or two committee planning meetings to receive instructions on the judging process.

    Time commitment:
    Typical contests categories require 1-3 hours of work. 
    Attend committee planning meetings (up to 1 hour each).
