• Oklahoma's Debbie Copp awaits enshrinement into 2012 CoSIDA Hall of Fame class

Debbie Copp was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame during the 2012 convention in St. Louis, Missouri, at the Renaissance Grand Hotel.

Copp was also the recipient of CoSIDA's 25-Year Award in 2001, Bob Kenworthy Community Service Award in 2008 and was the first recipient of the President's Award in 2015.

Copp's legacy of service to her school, her community and CoSIDA are noteworthy. Throughout her careeer she served CoSIDA year-round on various committees and by chairing the Committee on Committees.

A University of Oklahoma alum, Copp arrived in Norman in 1973 and never left. She has served in the OU athletic communications office ever since. 

In 1977, Copp was offered a full-time job. She accepted and was named women's sports information director in OU's athletic department. When the men's and women's sports information offices merged in 1984, Copp was named assistant sports information director. In 1990, she was named director of publications.
