Never. Stop. Learning!
At our June 2023 UNITE event in Orlando, our educational sessions will cover an array of communications leadership, strategic communications and technical/tactical topics, using large-scale general sessions, breakout sessions from some of the general sessions, small-group learning labs called Educational Lounges, and targeted learning opportunities on Divisional Days. We also will have featured presenters speaking on leadership, crisis communications and writing.
As of late January, CSC is scheduled to partner with the following NACDA and Affiliates member associations and other external colleagues. We will hold joint programming with:
- International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) on the topics of licensing and communications when it comes to social media, branding, big moments/anniversaries/celebrations and promoting and protecting content through Getty Images and IP rights
- National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) where the topics of branding, social media attitudes/trends and engagements will take place
- Women Leaders in College Sports and National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) leaders
This is in addition to having panelists from the athletic director associations and the Minority Opportunities in Athletics Association (MOAA) addressing CSC members. More collaborations with colleagues from other NACDA affiliates will be finalized in the coming months.
General programming and Educational Lounge sessions will begin midday on Sunday, June 11. The popular speed networking session also will take place on Sunday along with a Diversity and Inclusion Committee interactive session entitled “Diversity and Inclusion Are More Than You Think.”
Monday, June 12, the day is dedicated to Divisional Day continuing education, where specific programming takes place for NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III members along with dedicated programming for our NAIA, two-year, and Canadian members. Additionally, there will be a half-day of programming for our members involved in conference communications work.
Tuesday and Wednesday, June 13 and 14, finds CSC members returning to general programming and Educational Lounge sessions.
In addition to the topics listed above, panels and Educational Lounge sessions will cover mental health and wellness; building relationships with colleagues and administrators; best practices in nominating and submitting for national awards; operating a one-person or small staff; how-to’s of the profession for new SIDs; sessions for veteran members; hands-on training in Adobe products, video, graphic design, podcasting, live streaming, broadcasting, photography and statistical work, and more.
Specific programming windows and session titles, descriptions, presenters and moderators will be announced as they are finalized.
