#CSCUNITE24 resumed for day three on Tuesday, June 11 with a multitude of events highlighted by a featured conversation with 2024 Dick Enberg Award recipient Warrick Dunn, a product theater session with SIDEARM Sports, an informative presentation on the branding for the Heisman Trophy, and a mega session with CSC and ICLA on mastering the communication’s matrix.

One of the opening events was “Workplace fundamentals: Strategies to support yourself and your team,” led by a panel with Herb Martin (Los Angeles Chargers), Aaron Taylor (CBS Sports), and Jean Boyd (Arizona State) — all of whom are advocates of RADical Hope Foundation’s outreach. The session focused on guiding our members toward habits that benefit their mental and emotional health.

Next was a personal and inspirational featured conversation with Holly Rowe (ESPN) and this year’s Dick Enberg Award winner Warrick Dunn (Florida State). The two Hall-of-Famers sat down and discussed Dunn’s upbringing and the key moments in his life that ultimately led him to lead a life of service for others. Through Warrick Dunn Charities, he has provided things like affordable housing and education on financial literacy to those in need.

A long-term partner with CSC, SIDEARM Sports presented its new initiatives in a product theater session. Their “Next Gen” project includes enhanced features with awards voting, feature stories, and more. At the end of the session, Jeff Rubin, SIDEARM founder, former executive vice president of digital at Learfield and Syracuse University’s First Chief Digital Officer, was recognized on stage for his constant support and exemplary leadership of college sports communicators.

Inside the mega session with CSC and ICLA, panelists Brendan Long (Madison Square Garden Sports), Karl Feak (UNLV), and Savannah Stoeckle (Fresno State) led an instructive conversation that will help communicators continue to boost their effectiveness in sharing their brand’s unique goals and stories.

A few more of our events in the latter half of the day included an amazing opportunity to learn about the branding behind one of the most iconic symbols in college sports: the Heisman Trophy. Additionally, members unpacked a case study on the Caitlin Clark effect and how it has impacted not just Iowa Athletics but sports as a whole.
