Our 2024 CSC Unite convention officially kicked off on Sunday, June 9 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas!
Sunday saw hundreds register, get their FREE t-shirts, and enjoy fellowship and friendship as we returned to the Mandalay Bay Resort for the second time. The convention kicked off with a welcome from CSC President
John Paquette and Executive Director
Erik Christianson, which was immediately followed by a featured presentation with leadership coach and consultant
Chris Gargano. Gargano helped to kick off the week with "Custom leadership strategy for sports communicators: The brand called YOU". He will be providing CSC with a year-round leadership development program, and will also be involved in several Divisional Day sessions tomorrow (Monday, June 10).
For the first day of Educational Lounges, we saw some packed rooms with
Adobe Solutions' "Creative Mindset: Working with Adobe Express" and the standing room only
NCAA LiveStats Q&A stats session. Attendees continued working on their professional growth with Speed Networking sessions, presented by the Young Professionals Committee. Prizes were won and connections were made!
CSC members got together to give back during the on-site Community Service Project. The CSC Goodwill and Wellness Committee once again partnered with
Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas to provide resources for those in need. Convention attendees gathered to volunteer and pack kits for people in need.
Rounding out Day 1, the networking continued with two home-run social events, the annual CSC kickoff social and welcome in the exhibit hall (presented by
Athlyte), followed by CSC, Women Leaders in College Sports and the N4A partnering to host a high energy reception to close out the day’s activities.
