Erik Christianson has accepted an offer to become the NACDA executive vice president, primarily responsible for cultivating sponsorships and revenue generation, beginning September 3.

Christianson’s final day will be August 23. CSC Associate Executive Director
Will Roleson will assume the role of interim executive director during the transition.
“I want to thank Erik for his leadership the past two years and wish him the best as he prepares to join the team at NACDA,”
Kevin Trainor, 2024-25 CSC President said. “I am appreciative of his many contributions to our organization during a pivotal time in the history of our organization. Even as he transitions to his new role, I know Erik will continue to be an advocate for CSC and its members as part of the NACDA family.
“Like college athletics, CSC has undergone transformational change in the past few years. Thanks to the collective efforts of our leadership, staff and membership, CSC is now positioned to build on that momentum to support our members and further establish our organization as a leading voice in college athletics. Will has been at the center of those efforts and is a longtime advocate for our profession. I have no doubt that he, alongside our talented staff of Beau White, Barb Kowal and Alivia Dieterlen, will continue to carry on the important work of our organization.”
As the premier membership association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across all levels of college sports in the U.S. and Canada, CSC has experienced significant growth in membership, partnership and collaboration with other leaders across the collegiate sports landscape following the implementation of the All-In membership and the membership vote to rebrand the organization during the 2022-23 academic year.
Christianson was the third full-time executive director of the organization, succeeding Doug Vance following his retirement in the summer of 2022. Prior to Vance, who assumed the executive director position in October 2013, John Humenik served as the inaugural leader from February 2008 through June 2013.
The search for CSC’s next executive director begins immediately.
