Originally airing on February 26, 2024, this expert-led session from our CSC Statistics and Stat Rules Series remains a go-to resource for athletic communications professionals preparing for college women’s lacrosse.

This session is designed to reinforce foundational knowledge and strengthen understanding of how women’s lacrosse rules apply to statkeeping across all divisional levels and levels of expertise.

This video features a discussion and insights on:

  • Pregame preparation including roster setup, assigning stat crew roles, and collaborating effectively with your opponent’s SID
  • In-game scoring techniques such as entering starters, resolving unclear plays, and recording accurate statistics
  • Definitions and applications of key stat terms specific to women’s lacrosse, with comparisons to men’s rules
  • Strategies for troubleshooting unusual or difficult plays and maintaining stat accuracy throughout the game
  • Best practices for editing game files, communicating with coaches during and after matches, and working with fellow SIDs postgame
  • Guidance on sources to use when uncertain about a play, and how to ensure consistent reporting
  • Reference to the NCAA Statistics and Records webpage, where SIDs can find numerous resources: NCAA Statistics and Records
