Bob Shreve — Gannon University Director of Sports Information and Promotions (retired)

“I am extremely honored to receive this award. I was fortunate at a young stage of my life to find a job that was perfect for me. Along the way I worked with many outstanding members of our profession plus the media, and so many memorable student-athletes and coaches. I'd like to thank the individuals who thought that I was deserving of this award. It means a great deal. Most importantly, thanks to the many graduate assistants and student workers along the way who made me look good. Most of all that's my proudest accomplishment in this profession — the successes they have gone on to enjoy. Thank you!” — Bob Shreve, 2026 CSC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient

Bob Shreve spent more than 40 years in the athletic media relations field, including 22 years at Edinboro University and 14 at Gannon University. He retired from Gannon in December 2025. He was inducted into the Edinboro Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024 and was previously inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Erie Metro Chapter) in 2018.

In 2016, Shreve earned the ECAC-SIDA Irving T. Marsh Service Award and last year was awarded the Lester Jordan Award after working in the Academic All-America® program since 1992. He also served as sports information director at Mercyhurst University and West Chester University, and began his career as SID at Frostburg State University in 1982.

He was the national coordinator for the D2CCA (formerly Daktronics) men’s basketball program from 1996–2017. He has been honored with the top award in the country for his football media guides at both Edinboro and Mercyhurst. He has promoted many All-Americans, including Edinboro’s two-time Harlon Hill finalist and Hall of Fame quarterback Trevor Harris. He has also worked as the PA announcer and official scorer with the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit AA) for nearly 30 years.

Taylor Brown, Gannon University Associate Director for Sports Information & Media Relations: "Throughout all three years of my career at Gannon University, I have been incredibly fortunate to have Bob Shreve as a mentor. Fresh out of graduate school and entering the sports information field, I quickly learned just how much work goes into making athletic events run smoothly, and Bob was instrumental in guiding me through every step of that process. At the end of the day, he taught me that this profession is not only about promoting an athletic department, but more importantly about serving and supporting our student-athletes. He also emphasized the importance of taking care of fellow sports information professionals, being thoroughly prepared, and understanding that an event will go on whether you are ready for it or not, making attention to detail essential. From welcoming me with open arms to introducing me to his wonderful family, Bob’s impact on my professional and personal growth has been immeasurable. Congratulations to Bob Shreve on being named a 2026 CSC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient."

Todd Jay, Edinboro University SID and Associate Athletic Director (retired): "Bob has loyalty and tremendous dedication to his school and his job. His work ethic was unmatched with those that I worked with over the many years. He will never stop working and will stay involved forever. He is a caring, good person. You all made a great choice."

Dan Teliski, Florida Gulf Coast University Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance: "There is no one more deserving of this honor than Bob. His career was a Lifetime Achievement of greatness. He has been a mentor, supportive colleague and friend to everyone he has encountered. Bob has been a positive influence for every student-athlete, coach, and administrator that he has worked with, regardless of whether they were part of his institution or a competitor. Decades of excellence. Congratulations Bob! Unbelievable career."
