25-Year Award
Presented to College Sports Communicators members who have completed 25 years in the athletics communications profession. Vetted and voted on by the Special Awards Committee.

John Jordan — Flagler College Assistant Athletic Director for Athletics Communications

"I have to thank Dean Watson for getting me started in this field at Florida Tech and to Brent Rutkowski and his staff for being exemplary mentors at Central Connecticut. I would not be where I am today without either of those two men. I thank Flagler College for letting me extend my career for the past 21 years." — John Jordan, 2026 CSC 25-Year Award recipient

John Jordan is a native of Orono, Maine, and is a graduate of Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. Not long after graduating from St. Joe's, Jordan went on to work as an assistant sports information director at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. He then moved on to work in the same capacity at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain for one year.

Jordan got his first head SID role at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. There, he served for two years as the school's SID and as the media coordinator for the NAIA World Series. He then moved back to Maine to serve as interim SID at Bates College in Lewiston.

Jordan then moved back to Florida where he served two years as sports information director at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. He then moved upstate to St. Augustine where he is in his 21st year as SID at Flagler College.

Jordan currently serves as an Academic All-America® Coordinator of Publicity and has served on the ballot review team.

Chad Jackson, Georgia Southern University Director of Athletics Communications, past CSC 25-Year Award recipient: "I have had the pleasure of working with John for the majority of my time as an SID and his professionalism and dedication to the athletics communications field is second to none. He is always willing to share his expertise with others and continues to be a valuable resource to myself and my colleagues across the industry."

Dom Donnelly, Tusculum University Associate Athletic Director for Communications, past CSC 25-Year Award recipient: “John Jordan is one of the best in the business and I’m proud to call him my friend. Not only is he a professional and takes pride in everything he does, he has a personality that is infectious. It was a pleasure to serve with him on the Academic All-America committee and when our paths have crossed over the years, including our first meeting on the way to St. Louis for the CSC/CoSIDA Convention. Congratulations on this honor John. It is so well deserved.”

Brent Hager, University of South Carolina Aiken Assistant Athletic Director: “John has been one of a kind since I first met him in 2013. As he's grown to be one of my best friends in the industry, he's also one of my best friends outside of work. John has helped guide numerous students and interns in the industry and cares about the little things with the job. He's quick to assist on a scoring decision or give input when needed on bigger problems. John's also been someone to lean on and help others when they need support. As many people as I've dealt with in 24 years in the industry, John is always one of the first couple that I'll call about any issue, problem or celebratory instance. He's someone that should be recognized for not only his longevity, but also for his ability to be at the forefront of everything that we have to deal with. I couldn't ask for someone better to call a colleague and friend.”
