Training the (media) trainers - our members and CoSIDA convention attendees. This panel will help train athletics communicators to provide effective media training to student-athlete and teach SIDs how to run a press conference successfully. So much focus is given to teaching student-athletes what to do, but rarely do we focus on how to teach ourselves how to train student-athletes, both on how to handle media and interviews but also for SIDs on how to run a press conference. This panel will also provide quick-hitting tips for SIDs to provide student-athletes.

NCAA 4-4 Undergraduate Transfer Rules Relevant to SIDs

2:30-3 PM: Session 1 – NCAA 4-4 Undergraduate Transfer Waiver - Process
This session is the first in a three-part series on 4-4 undergraduate transfer waivers. Attendees will be provided with information on the general transfer rules and the 4-4 undergraduate legislative relief waiver process. This session will provide information beneficial to institutional communications staff members who may be interacting with the media or releasing information regarding a 4-4 undergraduate transfer on their campus.  
 
3:10-3:40 PM: Session 2 – NCAA 4- Undergraduate Transfer Waivers  - Guidelines
During this session, attendees will receive an overview of the NCAA Division I Committee for Legislative Relief undergraduate waiver guidelines and will discuss the most frequently asserted waiver guidelines. This session is most beneficial to attendees who attended the first NCAA Undergraduate 4-4 Transfer Waiver session or have a baseline knowledge of the general transfer rules and the 4-4 undergraduate legislative relief waiver process. This session will provide information beneficial to institutional communications staff members who may be interacting with the media or releasing information regarding a 4-4 undergraduate transfer on their campus.  
 
3:50-4:20 PM: Session 3 – NCAA 4-4 Undergraduate Transfer Waivers – Case Studies
During this final session on 4-4 undergraduate transfer waivers, attendees will have an opportunity to discuss example case studies and apply the NCAA Division I Committee for Legislative Relief undergraduate waiver guidelines.  Knowledge of the general transfer rules and the 4-4 undergraduate legislative relief waiver process or attendance at the prior NCAA Undergraduate 4-4 Transfer Waiver sessions is highly encouraged. This session will provide information beneficial to institutional communications staff members who may be interacting with the media or releasing information regarding a 4-4 undergraduate transfer on their campus.
