The four NCAA LiveStats Educational Lounge sessions are filled. Registration is closed. If you signed up via the Google Form, you will be notified if you are among the 45 in the session. You also will be notified if you filled out the Google form and were NOT among the first 45 selected.



These NCAA LiveStats sessions require pre-registration (REGISTRATION CLOSED; SESSIONS ARE FULL):
  • Sunday, June 26 - NCAA LiveStats for Football (3-3:45 pm)
  • Sunday, June 26 - NCAA LiveStats and SportzCast Integration (4-4:45 pm)
  • Wednesday, June 29 - NCAA LiveStats for Basketball (2-2:45 pm)
  • Wednesday, June 29 - NCAA LiveStats for Football (3-3:45 pm)
 
  1. Preregistration was required for four (4) NCAA LiveStats training sessions at the CoSIDA Convention, conducted by David Petroff of Genius Sports. 
  2. First come, first served: MAXIMUM OF FORTY-FIVE (45) per session. EACH SESSION IS NOW FILLED.
  3. YOU MAY ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE (1) of the FOOTBALL TRAINING SESSIONS, as a courtesy to all registrants. If you sign up for both, you will be removed from BOTH SESSIONS.
  4. In order to enter a session, you had to fill out a Google form beginning June 22; if you put these Educational Lounges on your personal schedule in the mobile app, you HAVE NOT REGISTERED. You will be notified if you filled out the Google form and were among the first 45 into the session. 
  5. Access to the room will go to those who are on this 45-person list, per session. The maximum for each session is 45 people.
  6. Remember, the Genius Sports staff will be in our CoSIDA exhibit hall throughout the convention to discuss NCAA LiveStats. There also is a Monday, June 27th session (2-2:50 pm, Mandalay Bay E) on NCAA LiveStats for all attendees.

Join these small, “learning lab” immersive sessions. Where indicated, seating will be limited on a first-come, first-serve basis to ensure a hands-on learning experience. Online signups for CoSIDA convention attendees only will take place in mid-June for the sessions marked “pre-registration required.”
 
Sunday, June 26
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM NCAA LiveStats for Football

3:45 PM - 5:00 PM Stat Dugout: Sport-Specific Statistical Questions and Issues
There is no pre-registration (open to all). This session on statistics takes place in a “table topics” style setup. At each of the six tables, a coordinator will lead discussions about the basic elements of recording stats for the sport as well as providing tips and tricks to help people improve or streamline their stats entry. At each “sports table” there will be discussions on how to record unusual or difficult plays in that sport as well as talk about common errors. You can come and go to this interactive 75-minute Q&A and troubleshooting session.

10:30 AM - 11:15 AM Content that Converts: Build Fanship through User-Generated Athlete Content

Join these two young creative professionals, both former collegiate volleyball players, who will discuss ways to maximize your reach and engagement on social. Arndt will focus on strategies and techniques in Instagram, using Reels, and on TikTok. Baumhoer will talk about short-form video creation and presentation.

3:15 PM - 4:15 PM Stats Dugout #2: The Gameday Experience
There will be six different table breakouts, each with a table topic leader who will lead the discussion about the various factors involved in recording stats at games and ways to improve the gameday experience for fans.
Note: This session WILL REPEAT on Wednesday, June 29 (2-2:45 p.m.)
Table 1 - Forming a Gameday Stats Team:  What personnel do you need to record stats effectively on gameday?
Table 2 - Types of Stats Software:  What are the various types of stats software and what are their strengths and challenges?
Table 3 - Sharing Stats and Roster Files:  What are best practices for sharing game files and roster files with colleagues using the same stats program or a different stats program?
Table 4 - Editing Game Files:  How to edit stats in-game, as well as post-game editing options in the stats software or by editing XML files.
Table 5 - The Gameday Experience:  Enhancing the experience for fans through live-streaming, embedding stats into live streams, and using social media.
Table 6 - Revenue Building through Live Streaming:  Discuss the expectations SIDs have about live streaming, which providers work best to meet specific goals, and how live streaming can be used to build revenue.

Learn more about content creation with graphics, the look/voice to use, how to integrate your graphics presentations with  your overall messaging and brand strategies.

2:30 PM - 3:15 PM Training Student Assistants for Office/Gameday Operations and Digital/Broadcast and Social Media Duties

Hear from the East Texas Baptist University Athletic Communications staff as they discuss how they’ve built and trained a student staff to handle a variety of sports information duties, including forming an innovative and creative digital, broadcasting and social team to produce impressive content at the NCAA Division III level, resulting in increased awareness and higher engagement and awareness for the ETBU athletic program.
