Presented by Job Seekers Committee and Young Professionals Committee
(Formerly the Job Seekers session)
The CSC Job Seekers Committee has joined forces with the Young Professionals Committee for its annual Job Seekers/Career Center session at the 2023 CSC Unite Convention. The session is intended to give young professionals and hiring managers an opportunity to network with one another and discuss important topics in today’s industry.
The set-up for this year’s session is slightly different than years past and will feature roundtables with a mix of young professionals in the industry and current or future hiring managers. Our goal is that the topics covered in the 90 minutes will help both groups engage with one another and grow everyone’s network, as well as provide an opportunity for hiring managers to connect with potential job seekers later in the week.
Topics covered include networking basics, selling yourself to employers, finding the right fit and creating healthy boundaries.
For all attendees
Be ready to give an elevator pitch of who you are and why you’re interested in the communications field. Come prepared with something to write with and business cards, or a way to distribute your contact information to those at your roundtable at the end of the session.
For hiring managers/job holders
Please let us know if you are planning to attend. We want to help make your experience the best we can and connect you with individuals that might be interested in learning more about a position at your institution.
For young professionals/job seekers
If you are interested in speaking with hiring managers about potential job opportunities while you’re in Orlando, please let us know in advance of the session so we can help facilitate a meet-up.
