Mosley is a senior at Butler University, studying sports media with minors in journalism and strategic communications.
Kobe Mosley has been hired as the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) intern for the 2023 spring semester. A senior at Butler University, Mosley will assist the CSC staff with storytelling projects, 2023 convention projects and other membership programs while gaining experience and networking with its athletics communications professionals and external stakeholders. He will serve CSC through the June 2023 convention, taking place in Orlando (June 11-14).
Mosley is majoring sports media with minors in journalism and strategic communications. He is a Dr. John Morton-Finney Diversity Scholar. Heavily involved in campus leadership activities, Mosley is involved in the Black Student Union as the communications liaison and represents the Union on its Unity Council, a collective voice for diverse and multicultural groups on the Butler campus.
“Kobe is a rising professional communicator with strong skills and talent, and we look forward to his contributions to support CSC and our members as we tell the stories of college sports,” said Erik Christianson, CSC executive director.
Mosley also serves as one of the managing editors of The Butler Collegian, a nationally recognized students news organization. Holding that position since April 2022, Mosley manages the entire staff alongside an editor-in-chief and two other managing editors. He directly oversees the sports section and covers the Butler men’s basketball team as its lead writer. Mosley has been involved with The Butler Collegian since his arrival on campus, previously serving as sports reporter and sports co-editor.
He also advises the College of Communication department on the student perspective of diversity, equity, inclusion and intercultural initiatives as a member of the CCOM DEII student advisory group and is a member of the CCOM Dean’s student advisory board.
“I am humbled and appreciate the opportunity to serve as CSC’s intern,” noted Mosley. “I look forward to the role and am excited to be part of the CSC organization at a time of its rebranding and membership growth. I look forward to seeing how things work in college sports communication, meet CSC members and help tell their stories.”
Mosley served as a media relations intern for the WNBA’s Indiana Fever during the 2022 season. This past fall, he was a special high school football video contributor for the Indianapolis Star, recording game video and conducting interviews.
