#CSCUNITE24 Know Before You Go – Last minute tips & packing list
by Alivia Dieterlen – College Sports Communicators, Assistant Director of Communications and Creative Content
#CSCUnite24, which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on June 9-12, 2024, is almost here. As you prepare for your trip to the convention, here are some last minute tips, information and packing suggestions from our staff:
#CSCUnite24 Packing List:
- Laptop
- Chargers (there will be dedicated power strips in the CSC workroom and there are a few session rooms with limited power strips)
- Supplies to take notes (notepad, pens, etc.)
- Virtual or printed business cards (consider a digital business card like Blinq)
- Good cushioned shoes for walking (the convention center has marble and concrete floors under the carpeting)
- A water bottle
- Your personal schedule via the #CSCUnite24 mobile app (see below)
- Business casual attire (see below)
Last minute tips:
- Make sure to download and login to the mobile app for announcements, updates, and to create your personalized schedule for #CSCUnite24 (see below for more information). Make sure to double-check the mobile app schedule each morning to confirm nothing has changes in terms of times and locations for the sessions you plan to attend. For the best experience, make sure to turn on push notifications for CSC Unite in the settings of your device to make sure you receive all important messages throughout the convention.
- From Harry Reid International airport, the easiest and most cost-effective way to get to the Mandalay Bay, Delano, or any other nearby property is typically by taxi. There are an abundance of taxis available. Rideshare options such as Uber and Lyft are also available.
- If you are staying at an MGM property, consider downloading the "MGM Rewards" app and locate your reservation to check-in in advance. By entering your expected arrival time into the MGM app, you could save a lot of time at check-in and you have a much better chance of your room being ready when you arrive. Normal check-in times at MGM properties are 3 p.m.
- There are more sessions available than any one person could go to so plan what interests you the most in advance. If there are multiple sessions you're interested in at the same time, split up with a colleague or friend and compare notes and ideas afterwards! All attendees are welcome and encouraged any session, including those outside your division on divisional day.
- It's going to be hot in Las Vegas. Remember to check out the Las Vegas weather forecast when packing for #CSCUnite24! For safety tips during excessive heat, check out the Southern Nevada Health District's recent article!
What should I wear?
Business casual attire is suggested for all sessions and luncheons. For men, this would include an open collared shirt or polo, open collared shirt with blazer, slacks; for women, tailored pants or skirts, blazers, structured tops and dresses
and smart-casual footwear. Remember, you will be doing lots of walking on very hard surfaces (marble and concrete), so prepare accordingly! Click here for some tips on business casual attire from Indeed
How do I keep up to date on convention announcements and schedule changes?
We created a mobile app for #CSCUnite24! Use it to stay up to date with the latest news and announcements, create your own personal schedule, complete your event profile, connect with other atendees, and join in on our interative game. Login invitations to access the
