Pat Manak Announces NACDA Family Updates (nacda.com)
Dear CSC:
As I stood before our members and guests attending the special awards luncheon concluding the CSCUnite 24 convention in Las Vegas this summer, I shared that leading CSC as executive director has been one of the great privileges of my professional life.
We’ve accomplished a lot together: rebranded the organization to more positively and accurately reflect the current state of the athletics communications industry; grew CSC’s membership to a record 4,400+ members, an increase of 43 percent since 2021, with the majority of the growth among creative communicators; attracted more than a dozen new sponsors and generated significant increases in sponsorship revenue; and overall strengthened CSC as a forward-looking organization supporting its members, campuses, conferences and ultimately student-athletes throughout the United States and Canada.
These types of leadership opportunities don’t come along very often in one’s life, and I’m grateful to have served alongside you during a time of incredible evolution and growth.
As you are likely aware, another leadership opportunity has now presented itself to me, and while I’m leaving CSC, I’m not going far. In my new role as NACDA executive vice president, starting Sept. 3, I will continue to advocate for CSC and all of college sports through overseeing corporate sponsorships, partnerships and other elements of revenue generation. CSC’s relationship with NACDA is a vital and essential partnership that has transformed this organization, and I’m grateful I’ll be able to support both organizations in my new role.
There are many challenges today in athletics communications and overall in intercollegiate athletics. Together, we have the great opportunity to think differently, lead proactively and provide solutions for what is a unique and special part of American higher education.
I specifically want to thank the CSC executive board of directors for its partnership and commitment to serve the organization, and I especially want to thank the hardworking CSC staff, who everyday are laboring in new and creative ways to support you.
I look forward to serving alongside you in my new role, and let’s keep in touch!
All my best,
Erik Christianson
