It's time for #CSCUNITE23!

The 2023 CSC Unite convention is just days way and we cannot wait to see many of you June 11-14 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando. Below are important details to help you make the most of your convention experience.

This annual event is the premier in-person opportunity for learning, networking and fun, alongside communications and creative colleagues from across all divisions in collegiate athletics. Our robust programming lineup of featured speakers, hands-on educational learning, awards celebrations and connections with colleagues across NACDA will leave you energized.

If it's your first time, lean on others as there is always a friendly face ready to help. Know that it's not possible to attend everything, and that's okay. Download the mobile app, personalize a schedule that is perfect you and make the most of your time in Orlando!

Download the mobile app - the most important resource to navigate the week

Available now on iPhone and Android, the mobile app is your best source for the most up-to-date information. Registered attendees will receive an email invitation. Or, to get the app, follow these instructions:

  1. Download CSC Unite from your App Store / Google Play Store.
  2. Once downloaded, search for the event — #CSCUNITE23 — from within CSC Unite App and download the event.
  3. Login with your registered first name, last name and email address to access personalized features. Enter the 6 digit verification code which you will receive via the email address you used to register for the convention.

Registered CSC Unite attendees have full access to the #CSCUNITE23 mobile app available on iPhone and Android. Non-CSC Unite registrants can download the app to view the schedule, but cannot log in to access personalized features.

Getting to the World Center Marriott

The World Center Marriott is located at 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, FL 32821. Click the links for more information on local ground travel and parking.

Hotel rooms

Standard check-in at the World Center Marriott is 4 PM, with check-out at 11 AM. The resort fee of $42 at the World Center is automatically waived for all attendees so any attendee would need to opt-in for access to those services. The resort fee includes the following:

  • Enhanced in-room wireless internet
  • Daily admission to River Falls Water Park for 4 guests
  • Daily scheduled shuttle service to Disney Parks for 4 guests
  • Nightly scheduled shuttle service to Disney Springs for 4 guests
  • A bucket of golf balls and use of rental clubs at driving range daily for 4 guests
  • 15% discount off retail rates for greens fees (excludes merchandise) 

There are no resort fees at any of the Marriott Village properties. At the Caribe Royale, the resort fee is included in the room rate. For more details, see the FAQ.

Room availability: Rooms at all properties are sold out in CSC and NACDA room blocks. Through NACDA, additional rooms are available at the two hotels below. Please note, while these two options are located within close proximity to the Orlando World Center Marriott, transportation will not be provided to these two properties.

CSC registration

Upon arrival, check-in at the #CSCUNITE23 Palms Registration Desk to receive your name badge. Gifts, including a $15 coupon to the CSC Official Online Store, will be available to all attendees who have completed update their CSC Member Profile. Please take two minutes to log in and update your personal profile at this link. Completing your profile allows us to better provide you the information relevant to you. Registration desk hours are:

  • Sunday, June 11: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Monday, June 12: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

On-site dining options

Multiple restaurant options are available on the World Center property. New this year will be the addition of food trucks for all attendees. Included in the food trucks is One Way Coffee which will open at 7 AM Monday-Wednesday and be available into mid-afternoon. Five additional lunch food trucks will open at 10 AM. What to wear

Business casual business attire is suggested for all sessions and luncheons. This would include an open collared shirt or polo for men and slacks or a dress for women.

CSC member work room

For the first time, a work room with tables and power will be available for attendees. This room will be available throughout the duration of the convention in the Key Biscayne room of the North Tower.

5K Fun Run / 2-Mile Walk

Open to all CSC and NACDA attendees, the annual 5K will take place Monday, June 12 at 6:30 AM. Race participants should meet at the Fairway Terrace at the Hawks Landing Golf Course. The route is an out-and-back along the golf course cart path. A table will be set up near registration on Sunday for those who would like to register on site. Cost is $25 for the in-person race.

2023-24 slate of CSC Executive Board of Directors approved; John Paquette to become 69th CSC President

As approved by the membership at the 2023 Annual Business Meeting on May 31, the Executive Board of Directors will be led in 2023-24 by President John Paquette of the BIG EAST Conference. Also elected to serve on the Executive Board this year are new 3rd Vice President Patrick Crawford (Purdue) and College Division Representative Donnie Smith (Southeastern). Smith was previously filling a vacated position on the Executive Board and will now begin his own term.

CSC 2022-23 contest results and scholarship & grant recipients to be announced throughout June

CSC members will receive the results of the final 2022-23 awards, contests and scholarship/grant award recipients in the month of June. All results will be announced on CollegeSportsCommunicators.com and via our social channels.

The ChangeMaker Innovation Award winners will be announced on Monday, June 5.

The announcement of the winners for the following contests will take place after the #CSCUNITE23 convention.

Results are expected prior to be announced prior to Wednesday, June 28 for:

  • Fred S. Stabley Sr. Writing Contest (district and national winners)
  • CSC Creative and Digital Design Contest (formerly the publications and digital design contest)

College Sports Communicators partners with College Ave Student Loans on CSC student loan program

College Sports Communicators announces a new partnership with College Ave Student Loans – the CSC Student Loan Program. With the program, CSC members can access the best-in-class higher education financing options from College Ave.

2022-23 CSC membership expires July 31

All College Sports Communicators memberships, no matter what time of year they were purchased, expire on July 31 each year. Renewals and new membership purchases for 2023-24 will be available beginning August 1.

All-in and individual rates remain the same as last year. Individual memberships are $175/person, while All-In membership allows for unlimited members at a rate based on your division.

CSC Career Center job postings rates to increase July 1

Effective July 1, rates for job postings on the CSC Career Center website will see a modest increase. The new price for current members will be $150 for single 60-day postings, and the non-member rate will be $300. The increase is the first since 2013-14.
